Balaji Motors was founded by Yash Vardhan Jain in 2006 on Sevoke Road, Siliguri. Two Projects That Define What Balaji Motors Can Do
1956 Dodge Kingsway: Complete Restoration
One of the most complex projects the Balaji Motors team has taken on was the full restoration of a 1956 Dodge Kingsway. The vehicle required complete paint refinishing, restoration of chrome elements, interior work, and mechanical repairs.
Since traditional nickeling of the chrome parts was not viable for the customer, the team developed an in-house chrome paint solution that delivered an excellent finish while preserving the classic aesthetic of the vehicle.
The interior was reworked with custom leather finishes on the dashboard and steering wheel. Critical mechanical issues including the water pump and gearbox were resolved by sourcing and integrating the required components. The project required restoration sensitivity and technical problem-solving in equal measure.
Toyota Fortuner: Severe Crash Rebuild and Upgrade
A Toyota Fortuner came in after a severe crash requiring extensive structural and mechanical work including engine replacement, chassis reconstruction, and airbag system restoration.
After the full rebuild, the vehicle was transformed with premium modifications: custom paint, a levelling kit, 20-inch alloys, and a complete interior upgrade in Nappa leather. Advanced features including a Hypersonic Android system, rear-seat recliners with headrest screens, wireless charging, and a sunroof were integrated.
The project moved from severe accident damage to a fully rebuilt and custom-upgraded vehicle, handled entirely at the Balaji Motors workshop on Sevoke Road, Siliguri.
